Testing Lab Supervisor (2nd Shift)
The Testing Lab Supervisor oversees daily operations within a testing lab setting, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of testing protocols and procedures to ensure the devices are tested and completed per customer and contract specifications. This role is critical in maintaining the quality and integrity of Test Lab results while ensuring compliance with standards and requirements. The Testing Lab Supervisor leads a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, performance evaluations, and developing the testing work instructions to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with strong leadership skills, in-depth technical expertise, and a proven ability to maintain lofty standards of quality and compliance in a testing lab setting. They possess excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, along with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate testing lab activities, including the scheduling and prioritization of testing assignments and operator workloads.
- Ensure all lab procedures adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and regulatory requirement, and ensure all processes are documented and adhere to the company's ISO standard.
- Monitor and maintain lab equipment, ensuring proper calibration, maintenance, and functionality.
- Review and validate test results, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Implement and oversee quality control measures to guarantee consistency and integrity of test outcomes.
- Conduct regular training sessions and performance assessments for lab staff, promoting professional development and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to support test development and troubleshooting efforts, including developing/researching methods and processes to test mobile devices, and developing new methods to reduce and/or improving testing process and times.
- Manage inventory of lab supplies and materials, ensuring timely procurement and optimal stock levels.
- Prepare and present reports on lab performance, findings, and any non-compliance issues.
- Stay updated with advancements in lab technologies and methodologies to continuously improve lab operations and participate in continuous improvement projects, including but not limited to: Kaizen, 5S's, CPAR's, and six sigma.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1+ years' experience working with electronics
- 3+ years' experience supervising and/or developing others
- Good knowledge of mobile devices (Phones, tables, accessories)
- Strong knowledge of testing lab practices, equipment, and safety protocols
- Ability to bend, stand, walk, and lift for extended periods of time and to lift fifty pounds
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite Products
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a demanding environment
- Ability to work overtime as required

- Associate's degree
- Proficiency with integrated ERP systems
- General knowledge and experience in planning and managing fast paced operations
- General knowledge of standard safety practices and procedures relating to warehouse operations and equipment
- General knowledge in material planning and control
- General knowledge of productivity calculation
- Advanced experience with Excel pivot tables, filters, and data analysis
- General knowledge of FIFO product management
