Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Equipment Representative to support the government in meeting its mission and defined responsibilities. In this critical role, you will play a key part in the entire Facility Life Cycle Management (FLCM) process, ensuring that all equipment requirements for healthcare and research lab facilities are meticulously planned, procured, and implemented.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Travel to and conduct Equipment site investigations at Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).
  • Identify and develop comprehensive equipment requirements for project sponsors, including cabinetry, openings, interior finishes, specialties, and furnishings.
  • Assess current-state conditions and ensure they meet government Interior Design criteria.
  • Develop and document end-state results and objectives, ensuring adherence to government equipment criteria.
  • Evaluate existing equipment for reuse or new purchase recommendations.
  • Determine the quantity and location of equipment for new or renovated spaces.
  • Review acquisition documents, including Design, Construction, and Initial Outfitting (IO) Contractor RFPs/SOWs.
  • Clearly communicate required equipment deliverables throughout all project phases (pre-design, design, preconstruction, construction, and outfitting) to ensure conformance and compliance with criteria and standards.
  • Review equipment design deliverables.
  • Assist the Government in developing equipment design change requests.
  • Review equipment preconstruction, construction, and initial outfitting deliverables, including shop drawings, product literature, Project Review Cycles (PRCs), and cost estimates.
  • Respond to RFIs and Architect's Supplemental Instructions (ASIs) related to equipment.
  • Inspect installed equipment products.

Skills and Experience:

  • U.S Citizenship required
  • Applicants must be able to obtain pertinent security clearance. Position requires Tier1/NACI or DoDM 1000.13-M-VI clearance.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in healthcare and research lab facility operations.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience in defining and communicating equipment requirements, constraints, and objectives for design and construction across the entire project life cycle. This includes reading and reviewing equipment design documents, construction submittals, inspecting equipment supplier and installer work, and confirming closeout submittals.
  • One of the following educational backgrounds or certifications:
    • Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology OR
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a civilian accredited school OR
    • Active Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) issued by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation Credentials Institute OR
    • United States Military Biomedical Equipment Technician training course completion certificate OR
    • 10 years of experience in the qualifications listed above, with a minimum of 5 years specifically in healthcare.
  • Proficiency in reading and reviewing equipment documents, including design analyses, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Experience reviewing equipment construction documents such as RFIs, ASIs, shop drawings, and product literature.
  • Knowledge of acquisition and procurement of equipment.
  • Understanding of DoD Equipment Policy and Criteria Development.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing DoD military medical projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with LogiCole database and running inventory reports.
  • Familiarity with the Space & Equipment Planning System (SEPS).

Physical Requirements:

This role is primarily performed in an office or home office environment. It requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards, walk short distances, and exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (or negligible force frequently/constantly) to move objects. Repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers are common. Close visual acuity is required for tasks such as data analysis, transcribing, computer use, and extensive reading.
