Job Details:

Mercer Engineering Research Center (MERC), a research institute of Mercer University, provides high quality engineering, scientific, and technical support services to both government and private industry customers. MERC is recruiting for a Program Administrator to support the Operations Directorate under the direction of the Employee Services Senior Manager.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists the Senior Manager of Employee Services with a wide range of job functions related to human resources, facility management, and custodial supervision.
• Conducts employee in processing.
• Assists with the job posting approval process and posts job vacancies to specified sites; possesses full knowledge of applicant tracking system.
• Assists with recruitment processes.
• Backup for data entry in HRIS systems (MIS and Workday).
• Assists with conducting and analyzing compensation surveys.
• Assists with maintaining physical and digital employee records.
• Assists with HR yearend closeout for audit and EEOC compliance requirements.
• Training Coordinator and Training Tracker process owner.
• Updates Organizational Chart and/or Facility Map as needed.
• In the manager’s absence serves as primary point of contact for HR and facility questions and concerns, and performs all necessary job functions.
• Provides leadership for company-wide special event planning.

• Orders and maintains inventory control of all janitorial supplies. Keeps Safety Data Sheet reference book updated.
• Provides feedback for constant process improvement.
• Substantial use of verbal and written communications in support of primary job functions.
• Performs all job-related tasks independently within guidelines provided by manager.
• Complies with all Executive Director approved MERC-wide policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• US Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
• Requires an undergraduate degree in a business or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Requires high degree of proficiency and knowledge of personal computers.
• Demonstrated knowledge in the use of specified office automation packages, such as Microsoft Office, to include word processing, spreadsheet/database applications, graphics applications, and desktop publishing.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Additional requirements may be added as appropriate and as specified in the specific Personnel Requisition Form.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• This job operates indoors in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Requires physical stamina sufficient to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods.
• Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing.
• Visually or otherwise, be able to identify, observe, and assess documents, drawings, and models.
• Able to see and read PC screens, detect color-coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print.
• Hearing sufficient to conduct in-person and telephone conversations.
• Speaking ability in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversational distance, on the telephone, and addressing groups.
• Mental acuity to collect and interpret data, evaluate reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make valid judgments and decisions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Working knowledge of HR regulations and compliance. Experience with Workday software is preferred.
