Position Summary
The New Student Programs Coordinator provides coordination and oversight of the University Welcome Center including daily tours and prospective and current student interactions with admissions and supporting the Student Ambassador Program. This position reports to the Assistant Director of New Student Programs and will work closely with the Associate Director of New Student Programs and New Student Programs team to plan, develop and execute events for prospective and newly admitted students. This position will coordinate with the Admissions Recruitment team to support the operations for the University Welcome Center. The coordinator will contribute to a campus environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree;
- At least one year of full-time experience working in admissions, new student programs or a closely aligned area in higher education;
- 1+ years of supervision experience
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions;
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in an organized fashion;
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working with diverse constituents;
- Demonstrated computer skills including proficiency using Google applications;
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, high volume office;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work in a team-oriented setting;
- Strong leadership skills to manage a diverse student team;
- Excellent communication skills with ability to discuss difficult situations in a calm and professional manner; and
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish – ability to read, write, and speak in Spanish;
- Experience providing exceptional guest service and managing operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment

Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
The starting annual salary for this position will be $56,880 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
