Position Summary

Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept
Founded in 1993, the Child Welfare Partnership was one of the first in the nation to combine social work research, training and education into an integrated and collaborative program to advance the outcomes of children and families in the State of Oregon. In partnership with the Oregon Department of Human Services, the Child Welfare Partnership delivers an extensive and nationally recognized training curriculum and program for child welfare workers with a mission to “build the capacity of human service organizations and systems to improve the equity and effectiveness of services and community supports for children, youth, and families.” Over 120,000 persons have been trained to be caseworkers, social service assistants, and supervisors to support the individual needs of families and best serve Oregon’s children and young people.
Position Summary
This position is located in downtown Salem, Oregon at the Child Welfare Partnership Training Center. Occasional evening work or travel to meet project deliverables.

This position will work as part of an evaluation team located in Salem, Oregon to evaluate training and education programs. Tasks will include coordination of evaluation activities, including data collection and day to day implementation of evaluation protocols and processes; conducting basic quantitative and qualitative analysis; assisting with data cleaning and validity checks; conducting curricula reviews and literature searches; communicating and collaborating with internal and external partners; and conducting all research and evaluation activities with a trauma informed and social justice lens that centers race, equity and inclusion in both research and evaluation design and in producing outcomes that could advance the work of racial equity.

It is the intention that this position be funded at full-time. However, this position supports an array of projects with varying start and end dates, as a result FTE may vary but will not go below .5 FTE.
Primary ActivityR - ResearchMinimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree
  • 2 years as a Research Assistant or equivalent experience doing human services or social science related evaluation/research work
  • Demonstrated understanding of definitions, concepts and impacts related to race equity and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Sociology or other social science with courses in research methods
  • Experience conducting research and/or program evaluation of human services or workforce development programs
  • Experience using R, R Studio, and/or Quarto and Git Hub for conducting basic analysis and generation of reports

Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
The starting annual salary rate for this position will be $67,200. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
