Position Title: Control M Engineer 1/2/3
Location: Des Moines, IA, United States
Description:
This is a multi-level posting. Candidates may be considered for any of the posted levels, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise.
Primary job duties include assisting Corporate IT applications team with Control-M setup, enhancements, patching, agent troubleshooting issues with Control-M application. Support large scale schedule conversions to new systems.
Responsibilities:
Working under minimal supervision and using established procedures, to ensure integration, scheduling, monitoring, problem resolution, and output control of applications in a multi-platform, 24x7 data center operations.
Participates in the maintenance of automation procedures and assists in analyzing existing and new production applications to ensure schedule and procedural efficiencies.
Performs analysis of Control-M application related to effective utilization and efficient, accurate, and timely computer processing. Including, the identification and resolution of service-level problems and mission-critical tasks. This role will be responsible for supporting all US-based BHE platforms.
Manage integrations involving Control-M Automation API (AAPI).
Create and manage application integrator job templates based on application requirements.
Will collaborate with manager of Production Control to produce various reports for management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically, four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree. A minimum of two years additional directly related technical experience is required.)
Four years of experience in an information technology production control operations center role or related experience is required for the level 2.
Five years of experience in an information technology production control operations center role or related experience is required for the level 3.
Advanced knowledge of Control-M or other automated batch job scheduling application. Advanced knowledge of client/server, network, mainframe, and applications environment.
Advanced knowledge of monitoring systems.
Advanced knowledge of MS Windows, SQL, Lynix, Unix, and Solaris working environments.
Ability to script using SQL and/or Python,
Strong knowledge of information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions, and major vendors.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Must have a good working knowledge of Control-M installation and architecture.
Participate in disaster recovery exercises and update documentation as required.
Maintains accurate incident and service request records utilizing the service management tool to accurately describe work performed in order to meet compliance requirements.
Evaluates, recommends, and implements automation and scheduling solutions to meet stakeholder needs.
Working knowledge of operating systems (Unix/Linux), networks and databases (Oracle).
Must be familiar with TLS/SSL based security between various Control-M components. This will require knowledge of SSL certificates, generating CSR and managing.
Support production control technicians with technical leadership, assistance, and training as needed.
Performs any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
