Job Summary
The Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is seeking a highly motivated, professional Director of Research Communications & Visibility to contribute to amplify the brand visibility and communications reach of the Center for the purpose of encouraging use of the resources and services of the CCTS, recognizing achievements of faculty and staff in the CCTS, celebrating and disseminating news of research successes of CCTS affiliated investigators, enhancing outreach for our training and career development activities, and cultivating national awareness that drives research collaboration opportunities.

The CCTS is a laboratory for discovering solutions for pressing health concerns of the nation. We are the vehicle for enabling the university to achieve the mandate to be the “institution in the United States that does the most to advance the health of the people of their state.” From infusing methodologic expertise, to training research profession staff, and building statewide and national research collaborations, to enabling investigators with resources and pilot funding, we are the campus engine for driving growth of research that advances human health and wellness.

Since its inception in 2006, the CCTS has invested millions of dollars into research funding and trainee support at the University of Kentucky through its commitment to facilitating and financially supporting innovative, translational research and approaches that transform the way research is done. In support of that vision, the Director of Research Communications & Visibility will collaborate across all our strategic domains and lead all communications and visibility initiatives within the CCTS in concert with guidance from the grant leadership.

This position will provide coordinated project management for new or large-scale strategic communication projects and campaigns including converting recurring communications elements into documented processes such as templates and style sheets for our products, and visibility and branding checklists for annual events. Construct and maintain project management tools for communications activities, such as project swim lanes, for making timelines and process components explicit across CTSA teams contributing to outreach and visibility efforts.

The CCTS is dedicated to broadening the range of perspectives within our staff and faculty and aims to build a team with an extensive spectrum of skills and experiences.

This position will be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Skill with design, text, and presentation tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, WordPress, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Emma Email Marketing. Facility with social media managing platforms such as CoSchedule. Skills in tracking outcomes of marketing campaigns, including website and social media access and use patterns.
