The Test Equipment Coordinator will support automotive engineering research, development, or validation testing through tracking, managing, and coordinating usage of specialized test equipment or instrumentation. This role will also support equipment calibration tracking, compliance with safety practices, and ordering consumable items for the laboratory. This position is located in Dearborn, MI.

As a Test Equipment Coordinator, you will:

  • Track and manage inventory and assigned location of test equipment and instrumentation assets
  • Pull inventory from storage location, and group into kits according to requests
  • Check in and out equipment and instrumentation kits to requestors
  • Track and manage equipment calibration and maintenance requests
  • Track and order consumable lab items to maintain availability according to test schedule
  • Maintain records and report usage or status metrics as needed
  • Serve as liaison between lab technicians and requestors
  • Ensure safety protocols are adhered to regarding equipment usage and storage
  • Support diagnosis and issue resolution as needed

To be considered for as a Test Equipment Coordinator, you will need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an automotive environment
  • Good computer skills and flexibility to learn new skills
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Good customer service and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems
  • Ability to learn and follow detailed processes

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Associate’s degree or certification in technical or business field
  • 2 years’ experience in an automotive testing environment with exposure to instrumentation, calibrated test equipment, asset tracking or inventory control
  • Experience with basic automotive electrical accessories
  • Strong MS Office skills specifically with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of calibration of measurement equipment
  • Ability to diagnose issues with asset or inventory tracking
