Description:

Quality Control Leader
Grade - 6

The Quality Control Leader located in Wolcott, IN reports to our Quality Assurance Manager and is responsible for leading, directing, assigning work to, and assuring the work performance of the Quality Control Inspectors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive information from Quality Assurance Manager on procedures and standards to be used and assign work to subordinates to meet plant quality control objectives. Rotate Inspectors through quality control and incoming inspection workstations and assignments.
  • Train new or transferred employees in inspection, repair, sampling and other methods and techniques. Notify Supervisor of any recurring problems.
  • Review questions and make decisions on repair problems or quality specifications referred by subordinates, discussing unusual or recurring defects with Quality Control Engineer.
  • Perform any incoming, line or sampling inspections and tests or return diagnosis or repair or other quality control work, as time permits.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager with special projects and procedures development.
  • Maintain required records and prepare reports for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Instruct subordinates in following prescribed safety and other procedures in handling of all units and components to eliminate possible injury or damage and in maintaining clean and orderly work areas.

Requirements:

Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:

  • Require print or spec reading with from two to three years to attain proficiency on all assignments for instructing subordinates.

Physical/Mental Essential Functions:

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to reach above shoulders
  • Ability to walk back and forward thought-out facility
  • Ability to control operation of hand or foot
  • Ability to lift / carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to use keyboard, sporadic 10 key
  • Ability to use mouse (or alternative input device)
  • Ability to push / pull
  • Ability to turn wrist frequently in repetitive motion
