JOB DESCRIPTION

The Process Tech Operator will learn both Latex and Alkyd operations. The Process Tech will follow work instructions and batch ticket getting pre-weights together for the batch, adding raw materials to the reactor following work instructions, conducting quality checks and documenting information on paper and within the computer program. The process tech will then transfer the finished product to shipping and receiving.

Rotating Shift: Every 4 weeks Monday - Friday from either 6:00am - 2:30pm or 2:00pm - 10:30pm

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates a reactor utilizing a computerized control system to ensure the proper chemical reactions and requirements occur; follows appropriate batch ticket and operational procedures.
  • Stages, prepares, lifts, and loads raw materials and other components required for the production process; will also utilize a computerized or automatic process to perform tasks.
  • Monitors and adjusts gauges, valves, switches, pumps, and other components according to production requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork and/or enters data regarding materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and other operations to ensure records and actions are accurate.
  • Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.
  • Communicates with maintenance, quality control, warehousing, and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.
  • Prepares and/or performs quality control analysis, testing, and review to ensure adherence to standards and parameters.
  • May operate a variety of computerized, manual, and mechanical equipment to mix, fill, unload, label, pack, and store working-progress and finished goods.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have at one (2) years of work experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have at least three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility
  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators to ensure proper operation of machinery
