We are looking for a Civil Engineering Drafter at (NIWC Pacific) in San Diego, CA.
Position Summary
Provide Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) with engineering, design, and review tasks within the NIWC Pacific area of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Creating, drawing, and writing construction documentation; coordinate the preparation of engineering documents, assist architects, construction managers and engineers during design, solicitation, and construction administrative phases of projects; conduct site visits, perform project evaluation, document existing conditions, and propose solutions to existing problems.
- Coordinate with team members and execute project scopes, schedules, and budgets in conformance with project and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with team members and generate basic project scopes, schedules, and estimates in conformance with project and customer requirements.
- Responsible for coordinating with team members and generating construction drawings & documents, specifications, criteria, basic project scopes, and basic estimates in conformance with direction from the responsible engineer.
- Perform field investigations, including review of as-builts, to determine conditions, document findings, and provide a report to include a written summary of the observations, data collected, and photographs.
- Collect all required data to provide recommendations, prepare documents, and/or review deliverables.
- Perform data collection/management to assist with the preparation of cost estimates, schedules, report, RFPs, SOWs, and other documentation to identify the condition of existing facilities and determine the needed maintenance, repairs, and/or improvements.
- Prepare site visit reports, investigation reports, field reports, design drawings, as-built records, design material quantities basic scopes of work, associated cost estimates and other relevant design data.
- Coordinate all design drawings, documents, and other project documentation along with any other engineering service as required to ensure conflicts, interference, and other errors are resolved prior to submitting for construction.
- Review design drawings and other design documents to ensure conformance with objectives and quality standards.
- Ensure technical requirements of design are acceptable.
- Provide technical support for review of the commissioning plans, design and construction submittals and field inspections.
- Provide technical support for construction field activities and associated preparatory and quality control meetings.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience
- Proficient in REVIT BIM software
- Familiar with AutoCAD with respect to creating engineering and architectural drawings
- Familiar with engineering, architecture, or construction trades
- Secret Clearance - Required
