Function of Position:

Provide clerical support for the front desk, especially during peak recruitment times for EOP pre-freshman bridge programs.

This is a Federal Work Study position. Eligible applicants MUST have received prior approval from the Financial Aid Office. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide clerical support for the front desk by:
    • answering the phones
    • greeting and checking in students for appointments
    • calling/texting students for appointment reminders
    • scheduling appointments
    • assist with mailings and filing
    • Retrieve mail from the mailroom
  • Maintain department Instagram page by uploading content approved by the EOP director.
  • Draft flyers for special events and Instagram postings.
  • Sanitize and organize workstations in lobby area.
  • Restock supplies.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be Federal Work Study eligible (you can confirm your eligibility with a Financial Aid representative)
  • Must have successfully completed at least one semester as a full-time matriculated student.
  • Must be in Good Academic Standing with an overall GPA of C or better.
  • Must have a clear understanding of EOP program
  • Must maintain confidentiality of any and all student related files/documents/conversations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate or advance knowledge of managing social media accounts.
  • Familiarity of Banner, MyMCC, Brightspace and Starfish.
  • Skilled in Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Pay Rate: $15.50/hour
Hours per week: Up to 20 hours/week
