Clinical Research Coordinator
The Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for managing several clinical research projects in the Department of Neurology, Division of Neuromuscular Diseases. The coordinator will work with the Research Team, to set-up, implement, and maintain research projects. Coordinator will actively recruit patients for trials and educate staff that may be participating in the care of a patient in a trial. The coordinator will conduct research projects in both the in-patient and outpatient settings. Job duties would include IRB preparation and submission, budget review, data collection, scheduling tests and procedures, and conducting follow-up visits, patient exams, pulmonary function testing, collection of blood samples, and shipping data and samples. Some travel to study sponsor meetings may be required.
Prepares grant applications, manuscripts, Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, research papers, and assists with complex research papers. Audits research studies, monitors study budgets, resolves complex data collection issues, and implements protocol-specific study recruitment plans. Trains staff and oversees student workers; leads team meetings. Monitors study budgets and orders supplies.
