Position Summary:
The individual in this position typically performs client-related processes responding to client inquiries and performing client AR collections. Drives continuous client education and exceptional customer service.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Responds to and resolves client inquiries impacting proper invoicing and payment resolution
  • May have contact with clients, patients, insurance carriers, and/or outside sources
  • Research involving billing systems and various billing processes
  • Reviews invoicing at end of the month to ensure proper billing
  • Responds to price inquiries and requests for updates
  • Researches and response to Sales inquires
  • Researches and compiles data necessary and communicates findings to billing management
  • Maintains and contributes to month-end objectives and department metrics
  • Analyzes Client AR for trends and resolution in addition to providing management reporting on AR status
  • Collaborates with multiple departments within the organization to train and educate clients and sales teams
  • Meets with clients to resolve escalated complaints and issues related to client billing
  • Coordinates action(s) between functional groups to resolve Client At-Risk issues
  • Meets monthly cash and AR aging goals
  • Maintains compliance and HIPAA standards at all times
Additional Responsibilities (may be assigned):
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned
  • Ability to work on various other projects as needed
  • May be requested to visit clients onsite for billing process improvement or resolution
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience required
  • 1+ year related experience in billing, insurance, and third-party receivables or healthcare industry
  • Laboratory billing experience desired
  • Possesses a positive leadership and team player attitude
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledgeable about billing practices
  • This may include knowledge of Test pricing and CPT coding, reimbursement processes; commercial billing accounts receivables, review and interpretation of aging, cash flows, write-offs and follow up analysis
  • Proficiency in utilizing MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access
  • Able to write, speak and listen well and appropriately with different audiences.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence, and other documentation materials.
  • Able to think analytically, conceptually, and systemically.
  • Able to collect and research data, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate decisions.
