Position Summary:

The Licensed Electrical Journeyman Technician, you will support multiple projects, collaborating with project managers, technicians, the design and sales teams, contractors, and clients. This role requires deep knowledge of high-voltage electrical systems, building construction, and the ability to work in fast-paced, changing environments.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the electrical industry preferred.
  • Completion of an electrician apprenticeship is a plus.
  • Active state-issued Journeyman Electrician License required or 
    • Must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local regulations.
  • Experience with commercial electrical systems, structured cabling, and surveillance systems preferred.
  • Ability to bend and install EMT and Rigid conduit.
  • Skilled in reading blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications.
  • Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office; strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends when needed.


Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with the Electrical Supervisor and Project Manager to provide project updates and resolve issues in real time.
  • Installing, assembling, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications to ensure accurate installations.
  • Constructing, connecting, and troubleshooting electrical systems to meet project and code requirements.
  • Using a variety of tools and test equipment to identify and correct system malfunctions.
  • Performing inspections to ensure systems meet safety standards and code compliance.
  • Planning and laying out electrical installations based on job specifications and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Leading and training apprentices to ensure proper safety practices and quality workmanship.
  • Working from ladders, scaffolding, and rooftops to install or repair electrical systems.
  • Handling physically demanding tasks such as digging trenches, lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), and working in diverse conditions.
  • Advising management when equipment or systems pose a safety risk or require significant repair.
  • Participating in safety and coordination meetings and adhering to OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Traveling to job sites, which may include occasional overnight stays, and working flexible hours based on project needs.
  • Attending training sessions and maintaining required licenses and certifications.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support successful project delivery.
