Position Summary
The Finance Senior Analyst is a member of the Corporate Accounting and Finance department and is involved in all aspects of the team’s capabilities and services including financial analysis, financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting. The Finance Senior Analyst performs in-depth and complex analysis, evaluates, interprets and articulates results to senior levels of management. The role is an onsite position in the St. Louis corporate office.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop timely and accurate financial analysis and projections for executive leadership ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Lead aspects of short and long long-term financial forecasting of our Employee Stock Ownership Plan
Manage the Corporate G&A annual budget process and quarterly updates, ensuring G&A forecasts compliment other financial projections
Maintain the company’s capital budget and work with stakeholders to ensure expenditures comply with the budget
Participate in Burden rate creation and analysis through coordination with Financial Reporting and Human Resources.
Provide analysis of historical profit stats, headcount analytics, and G&A metrics, trends and forecasts, recommending actions for optimization
Reporting and Decision Support:
Compile and analyze financial data, create financial models, and prepare reports and presentations for leadership
Analyze past results, identify trends, and perform variance analysis to make recommendations to improve forecasting precision
Process Improvement:
Participate in the adoption of a new FP&A tool/system
Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, metrics, and dashboards.
Increase productivity by developing automated reporting and forecasting tools.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Cross-Functional Support: Provide financial planning and analysis support for corporate functional leaders during quarterly, and annual planning cycles
Develop executive leadership report outs, including presentations and written reports
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
5+ years of experience in finance/accounting with a track record of increased responsibilities
Strong accounting, critical thinking, and advanced analytical skills
Knowledge of financial concepts and accounting principles
Strong understanding of financial trends and strategic planning
Expertise in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to quickly adapt to competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and operate proactively and independently
Effective communication skills for presenting insights and recommendations to leadership
Construction industry experience is preferred
