Function of Position:

The lab assistant will support the instruction of CSC-202 by providing technical assistance to students during lab sessions. They will work under the supervision of the course instructor and help facilitate a productive and supportive learning environment.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist students in debugging hardware and software issues related to lab assignments
  • Answer student questions about lab procedures, coding in C and ARM assembly, and the use of lab equipment
  • Demonstrate proper use of the MSPM0G3507 Launchpad and CSC202 Expansion board
  • Provide feedback to the instructor about common student challenges and suggest improvements

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Current MCC student
  • Successfully completed CSC-202 (Programming Microcontrollers in C and Assembly) within the past year (Fall 2024 or Spring 2025) with a minimum grade of A-
  • Familiarity with the MSPM0G3507 Launchpad and CSC202 Expansion board
  • Strong understanding of both C and ARM assembly programming as presented for CSC202
  • Knowledge of Breadboarding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed CSC-223 (C++ Programming)
  • Completed CSC-206 (Digital Computer Organization)
  • Strong communication skills and patience when working with students
  • Prior experience in a teaching or mentoring role is a plus
  • Knowledge of oscilloscope usage for circuit analysis and debugging
  • Prior experience soldering protoboards


Additional Information:

Pay Rate: $20/hr.

Hours per week: 8
