JOB DESCRIPTION

The Creative Director: In-House Creative oversees the creative direction and output of the in-house team, including copywriting, art direction, production, and project management across a variety of channels and disciplines. The Creative Director collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure creative work is effective, brand-aligned, and strategically driven. The position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, process optimization, and inclusive team culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  1. Oversee and drive the overall creative output of the GAM Creative In-House team, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and business goals. This role leads and defines the structure and collaboration of multiple creative and operational teams, including copywriting, art direction (email, social, and brand creative), production studio, photo/video, and project management (project managers and proofreaders).
  2. Partner with internal marketing stakeholders across the GAM organization to review efficacy of programs and ensure that the work being done is effective and moving the needle on business strategies and objectives
  3. Partner with internal marketing stakeholders across the GAM organization to assimilate key consumer, customer, brand and product insights and craft them into high concepts (The Big Ideas) that become the benchmark of subsequent creative concepts.
  4. Along with Creative Director: Agency Management & Integrations, partner with internal marketing stakeholders across the GAM organization to develop, maintain and defend brand guidelines
  5. Drive the integration of technologies and tools to optimize the creative process, fostering efficiency, creativity, and output quality
  6. Along with Creative Director: In-House Brand-Art, develop ways to ensure cross-functional collaboration and knowledge-sharing between creative teams and other departments to ensure alignment of creative initiatives with overall business objectives.
  7. Continuously evaluate and refine internal workflows, processes, and protocols to streamline creative development, project management, and resource allocation.
  8. Provide regular feedback, recognition, and coaching to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous growth.
  9. Cultivate an inclusive workplace culture where all team members feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents. Encourage open dialogue, mutual respect, and collaboration among team members from diverse backgrounds, fostering creativity, innovation, and mutual understanding.


QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience
  • Degree in advertising, art, graphic design, marketing, or communications a plus

Preferred:

  • Degree in advertising, art, graphic design, marketing, or communications a plus

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 10+ years’ experience in the creative industry, preferably Consumer Package Goods and Retail Merchandising
  • 3+ years’ experience leading a team of creative professionals
  • Experience in creating integrated content across all marketing channels: digital, social media, paid media, mobile, offline, and print.
  • Intimate understanding of design, copy, social, email and web best practices
  • Highly collaborative with significant influencing skills.
  • Strong mentoring skills, to make the work better and the people doing the work better.
  • Ability to understand and articulate complicated concepts in clear, concise terms. Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation skills; able to persuade and sell to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Agile leader who is willing to be a change agent.

Preferred:

  • Strong understanding of consumer packaged goods (CPG) and retail merchandising, with the ability to translate brand strategy into compelling creative that resonates across retail and consumer touchpoints.
  • Agency experience a plus.

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign),
  • Strong creative and strategic skills including concept development, brand development, creative brief development and interpretation, art direction and copywriting oversight
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong team leadership and influence skills

Preferred:

  • Background as a copywriter, creative strategist or art director
  • Experience managing projects, with a focus on creative direction
  • Knowledge of Project Management software – primarily Workfront
