Database Administrator - Journeyman

Primary Location: Quantico, VA

Clearance: Active Secret


Job Summary

We are seeking a Database Administrator - Journeyman to support day operations including GOC, Capacity Management, Interface/Data, ESD, and Audit functions. This position requires 4+ years of experience in database administration principles and practical experience supporting production ERP systems in a secure, agile, and mission-critical environment. The successful candidate will administer and maintain company databases and data warehouses while supporting Oracle Database, ZFS, LVM, and Exadata configurations.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Administers and maintains the company database and data warehouses
  • Implements and monitors database access and configurations
  • Resolves database performance and capacity issues
  • Performs database recovery and back-up procedures
  • Supports resolution of issues with production transaction and interface files
  • Fine-tunes database indexes and storage configurations, patches, and version upgrades
  • Supports configuration and administrative activities related to Oracle Database, ZFS, LVM, and Exadata
  • Performs schema management, backups, and patching
  • May be involved in capacity planning and development work
  • Supports audit compliance frameworks like FISCAM or NIST 800-53


Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of experience in database administration principles and practical experience
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, including relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and database design
  • Ability to write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Experience with Oracle DBMS and Oracle EBS with RICECPW components
  • Experience with Oracle Exadata, ZFS, and LVM
  • Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages like Python or Bash
  • Experience supporting production ERP systems
  • Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments
  • Familiarity with audit compliance frameworks like FISCAM or NIST 800-53

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud-based database services such as Oracle Cloud Database, AWS RDS, and Azure SQL Database
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra
  • Current Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate certificate
