Job Title: Facilities Manager - Temporary
Location: Boston primary location, oversight in Waltham location
Position Type: Temporary (coverage for LOA) Full-Time
Summary of position:
The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.
Under the direction of the Vice President of Administration and Operations, the Facilities Manager is responsible for the supervision and coordination of maintenance, management, and safety of The Baker Center's building and equipment. The Facilities Manager assists with the evaluation and selection of contractors for facility projects and delivery of services.
This is a temporary position to provide coverage during a leave of absence.

Essential duties:
  • Manages and supervises all departmental staff.
  • Determines the most efficient use of staff time to insure the cleanliness, safety and maintenance of the agency's building.
  • Works with safety committee to ensure a safe work site including review of security issues.
  • Responds to repair and maintenance needs for requirements of the Center.
  • Approves central purchasing where possible of maintenance supplies and the vendors to be used.
  • Ensures that the building equipment, systems and vehicles are maintained and are in good repair. Handle all property and liability insurance claims arising out of the use above.
  • Develops a schedule for preventive building maintenance for all Center property.
  • Liaison with staff and managers concerning the final Scope of Work and the scheduling of specific construction activities.
  • Maintains Construction Facilities Management of contractors/vendor activities.
  • Develops and implement Service contracts for mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment.
  • Must travel to satellite location(s).
  • On call 24/7 for building emergencies only.
Qualifications
Education:
  • High School diploma required.
  • Certification in Facility Management preferred.
Experience:
  • Facilities management experience.
  • Bilingual - Spanish preferred; must al least have strong conversational - Spanish abilities.
Training:
  • Ability to work in a fast-past versatile setting.

License/Certification: N/A
Salary: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
Open Date: Open Immediately, Temporary role to cover during a leave of absence.
