Starting Annual Salary: $62,232
Location: University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
Starting Date: August 2025
Position Information: Full-time, 1-year contract eligible for renewal upon mutual agreement
We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work with Professor Sophie Shevick on the development of new radical methodologies in synthetic organic chemistry. This project will explore the generation of radical intermediates and their application to carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions. The researcher will collaborate closely with graduate and undergraduate students in the lab. Results from this project will be disseminated in high-profile, peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at scientific conferences.
Required Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, or related discipline, completed by August 2025
• Hands-on experience in synthetic organic chemistry, including a demonstrated ability to design and execute multi-step synthetic routes
• Proficiency in structural characterization techniques (NMR, MS, GC/HPLC, etc.)
• Strong publication record in high-impact journals
• Commitment to a safe and inclusive laboratory environment
Funding Source: This position will be funded through university startup funds.
