Summary of Position

Responsible for assisting with new equipment and process implementation, verification/validation, existing equipment, and process refinement; existing equipment and process troubleshooting; tool, fixture, and gage design, fabrication, implementation, and verification/validation. Assist in designing work cell layouts to optimize process flow and manufacturing throughput.

Essential Functions and Duties

To perform this job successfully, an individual will perform the following duties. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

  • Assist in the identification and implementation of process improvements that are complex in nature to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality. These can include new or existing, single processes, or multi-process systems.
  • Assist process engineers with Operational Qualification (OQ) testing and Design of Experiments (D.O.E) testing under supervision.
  • Assist in analyzing Equipment and Process-related problems (debug) in assigned areas and implementing solutions and participate in root cause analysis efforts
  • Work jointly with Manufacturing Product Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure assigned processes successfully produce components that comply with applicable drawings, specifications, and/or Work Instructions.
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
  • Maintain knowledge of pertinent Manufacturing Technologies and disseminate this information as requested to various Quality, Engineering, and Production groups.
  • Assist with Manufacturing and Quality to ensure operators are properly trained and the system is properly verified/validated.

Non-essential functions and duties

  • Stays current with various material removal, inspection, and manufacturing systems technologies and philosophies.
  • Provide various component cycle time estimates for product costing.
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or other related engineering field. (current)
  • Basic understanding of ASME drawing standards; CAD/CAM software, manufacturing processing and inspection techniques; process control (including automation and SPC); and project justification/scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to successfully perform job duties in a fast-paced, quick-changing entrepreneurial environment.
  • Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
