MISSION

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager will play a critical leadership role in support of Management and Operations (M&O) Services and Staffing to run the Integrated Mission Completion (IMC) Contractor Material

Access Center(s) (MAC) Warehousing Function at the Savannah River Site (SRS).

Key responsibilities include strategic planning, resource management, risk management, and performance tracking. A strong emphasis is placed on advancing operational efficiency, increasing revenue opportunities, and improving overall project profitability.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide overall management coordination as the central point of contact with the Customer and provide overall operations, direction, coordination, and evaluation of the three (3) MACs located on SRS. This includes distribution, shipping, receiving, chemical inventory, picking/packing, inventory control, scheduling, assigning, training, planning, monitoring, time control, analyzing productivity, space management, and leading employees
  • Perform periodic assessments and manage the inventory schedule and process.
  • Maintain the physical condition/appearance of the warehouses by conducting walk-throughs and through the implementation of general house cleaning activities.
  • Provide reporting metrics to manage business.
  • Reinforce a culture of safety within the organization. Must be knowledgeable of safety requirements, lead safety talks, perform Management Field Observations (MFOs), and perform daily walkarounds of support areas.
  • Manage project budget and ensure the project is completed within budget constraints.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed on schedule.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders and use this input to refine operational processes or renegotiate terms in future contract phases.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements that can lead to cost savings, increased efficiency, or improved service delivery.
  • Provide personnel management including employee reviews, hiring, compensation considerations, corrective/disciplinary actions, and one-on-one with direct reports.
  • Communicate project progress to senior management and stakeholders, and provide regular project status updates
  • Manage personnel work schedules to support standard contract services from 0630 hours to 1700 hours Monday through Thursday, and 12-hour shift schedules to provide uninterrupted 24/7 support, including weekends and federal holidays
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned by the WFG VP of O&M.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED/TASC/HiSET and at least five (5) years of experience in project management, warehouse operations, property management, and inventory control. 
  • Able to understand, speak, read, and write the English language
  • Leadership, management skills, and budgeting ability
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Have the ability to do the following:
    1. Define, establish and manage multiple support services
    2. Thrive in a fast-paced team environment
    3. Pass a pre-employment drug screen
    4. Pass a background investigation, including but not limited to nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by the contract
  • United States citizenship is required to work on a federal contract and will be electronically verified via E-Verify
  • Savannah River Site experience preferred
  • Experience with Puridiom warehouse management software a plus

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires all work to be performed at a U.S. Department of Energy government facility (SRS).  The position may require standing for extended periods of time. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to outdoor elements (heat/cold) and areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as a hard hat, safety glasses with side shields, safety footwear and mandatory hearing protection. The employee must be capable of ascending/descending various types of ladders, must possess experience and be proficient in the proper use of warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jack, forklift, etc.), and must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds manually.

 

TRAVEL

Travel requirements may include frequent trips by company car on or around the SRS.
