Configuration Specialist - Journeyman

Primary Location: Quantico, VA

Clearance: Active Secret


Job Summary

We are hiring a Journeyman Configuration Specialist to support ERP configuration and release management activities in a secure, enterprise IT environment. This role will focus on maintaining system integrity, supporting Oracle R12.2 configurations, and ensuring accurate documentation and traceability across environments. The position supports Program Management Office functions including transition activities, program documentation, and configuration management oversight while ensuring compliance with DoD standards.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Support the configuration and administration of Oracle R12.2 environments across development, test, and production tiers
  • Maintain configuration baselines and ensure traceability of changes across environments
  • Assist in the planning and execution of system releases, patches, and upgrades
  • Monitor system performance and coordinate with system administrators to resolve configuration-related issues
  • Develop and maintain configuration documentation, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Technical Data Packages (TDPs), and rollback plans
  • Support audit readiness by ensuring configuration records are complete, accurate, and compliant
  • Coordinate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to implement secure configuration changes
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and configuration management reviews
  • Support transition activities and program management documentation requirements
  • Maintain configuration control and ensure alignment with program management standards


Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 4–6 years of experience in ERP configuration or system administration
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 (required)
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools and practices
  • Experience supporting release planning, patching, and system upgrades
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with configuration baselines, rollback strategies, and audit traceability
  • Familiarity with ITIL v4, Agile SAFe, or DoD systems engineering frameworks
  • Experience with Oracle configuration tools, patch management, and interface control
  • Knowledge of system performance tuning and backup procedures
  • Experience supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) or Change Advisory Boards (CABs)
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience with program management documentation and transition planning

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Hybrid work environment at Quantico, VA site
  • Standard office environment with occasional hands-on system configuration activities
  • May require extended periods of computer work for configuration management and documentation

Travel

  • Minimal travel required for system upgrades and stakeholder meetings
