Job Description

The Harvard Law School Program on Biblical Law and Christian Legal Studies (“Program”) offers students the opportunity to integrate law, leadership, and life through the study, debate, and application of the teaching of the Bible. We help students connect learning with conviction, inquiry with relationships, ideas with character, research with hope, gifts with purpose, and values with action. We seek to inspire confidence in biblical law as a source of truth powerful enough to meet global challenges, yet personal enough to inspire individual purpose.

The Program seeks a highly motivated, exceptionally organized, technically savvy individual to be a part of a team working independently performing a wide range of complex and confidential administrative duties to support and lead program initiatives and events. Excellence in writing and communication skills are needed for responsibilities that include correspondence with our program recipients and donors, marketing materials, and various program reports. This position will be assigned and given full responsibility to lead specific events, and initiatives as well as manage various administrative tasks. This candidate needs to be able to coordinate multiple events with grace, finesse, and attention to detail. This Program is growing quickly; a qualified candidate will be able to step in to new opportunities as they present themselves. We are looking for candidates who have a genuine passion for the Program’s mission.

As Program Coordinator, you will:

  • Be responsible for maintaining the Program’s vastly growing contact list.
  • May monitor and reconcile budget(s) including grants, maintain financial documentation, provide information, research, statistics, and analysis.
  • Make recommendations on expenditures towards a defined budget. This includes understanding the University financial procurement system and assisting with expense support and all other financial administrative tasks assigned.
  • Be responsible for managing, scheduling, and coordinating the program day to day calendar and the event calendar, reserving and calendaring all program spaces, understanding the complex University and Law school calendars, and advising accordingly.
  • Set up a project management calendar and make sure the events and projects are meeting deadlines.
  • Coordinate and be responsible for weekly program events: such as our Reading Scripture in Community, Prayer Meetings, and Theological Salons. This includes writing and sending out invites/notices, ordering catering, working with the HLS Event staff, setup/takedown, preparing all materials needed.
  • Assist our Program manager in the Program’s major events such as the Law & Faith Lecture, Faith & Veritas events, and other notable assignments.
  • Write and edit various reports and research proposals.
  • May act as liaison with related programs or projects outside of the law school, keeping the Executive Director informed of relevant information.
  • Provide for smooth day-to-day flow of communications with the program staff.
  • May assist in interviewing, training, scheduling and distributing work to other staff members, students, casuals and temporary workers.
  • May serve as IT point person for department; this may include maintaining web page content/calendar and managing our program’s emails through MailChimp.
