Business Analyst [Journeyman]

Primary Location: Quantico, VA

Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance


Job Summary

We are looking for a Journeyman Business Analyst to support the modernization and sustainment of enterprise systems in a secure, Agile environment. This role will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze data, and support the development of mission-critical solutions that enhance operational readiness and decision-making. The position requires bridging business needs with technical solutions in a defense or federal IT context, with focus on Agile DevSecOps, enterprise sustainment, business process improvement, audit compliance, and data analytics.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business and system requirements
  • Analyze internal and external data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support decision-making
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications for developers and testers
  • Support Agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, and sprint planning
  • Conduct user acceptance testing and validate system changes
  • Prepare documentation such as meeting notes, process flows, and training materials
  • Support audit readiness and compliance documentation as needed
  • Ensure stakeholder alignment and traceability throughout the development lifecycle


Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field
  • 4–6 years of experience in business analysis or systems analysis
  • 3+ years supporting external business analytics projects
  • Experience with data analysis, modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and requirements gathering
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements in a DoD environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DoD logistics systems or ERP platforms (e.g., Oracle EBS)
  • Experience with KPIs, dashboards, and data-driven decision-making
  • Experience with federal logistics or supply chain systems
  • Knowledge of ITIL v4 and Agile SAFe practices
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps environments and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with user acceptance testing (UAT) and system validation
  • Understanding of STIG compliance and DoD cybersecurity frameworks

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Standard office environment with ability to work remotely
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on computer systems
  • Occasional travel may be required for stakeholder meetings or training
