We are seeking a full-time, remote Business Systems Analyst III. The IT Business Systems Analyst III (BSA III) is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to utilize and develop your current skills while developing new skills. The largest portion of your time is focused on project work where you are at the intersection of business needs, users experience and technical execution. You will be a leader of a digital product team where you will facilitate agile ceremonies and monitor KPIs. You’ll also exercise business analyst skills such as scoping projects, leading requirements elicitation sessions, completing analysis, providing functional and logical design documents. You also work with project management for the development of delivery roadmaps and communication of project state to business and IT partners.
The BSA III also acts as third tier support for issue management. In this capacity, the BSA III will have issues escalated to them when the service desk and production support teams are unable to resolve it on their own. Resolutions can include customer education, development involvement, IT operations or other resources to bring the issue to resolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the business and development team to implement technical solutions which support business processes and procedures
- Facilitates and participates in all scrum ceremonies to guide the team, clarify requirements, and provide immediate feedback.
- Assumes responsibility of a product backlog for a digital product
- Leads regular backlog reviews, planning sessions & requirement elicitation sessions with customers and stakeholders
- Continuously prioritizes the product backlog based on business value, user impact, technical feasibility, dependencies, and strategic alignment, ensuring the development team always works on the most valuable items
- Make timely and informed decisions regarding product scope and prioritization, to keep the development process moving forward.
- Works closely with a development team during backlog refinement sessions to ensure PBIs are well-understood, sized correctly, estimated and “Ready” for upcoming sprints
- Leads requirements gathering (elicitation, documentation, and management) and acts as a subject matter expert when appropriate
- Analyzes user needs, requirements, procedures, problems & data to automate processing or to improve existing systems
- Helps evaluate the impact of corporate initiatives, goals, and vision upon new and existing application modules and enhancements
- Recommends ways to improve or best utilize corporate information to support actualization of corporate objectives based on understanding of current business processes
- Acts as a subject matter expert and consultant to the business when appropriate
- Works with end users and other ITS personnel to evaluate, implement & support packaged software
- Provides functional and logical design documents
- Works on problem spaces and solutions of diverse scopes involving cross-functional teams
- Translates business needs into business requirements documentation (usage cases, process flow diagrams, narrative descriptions, data models, storyboard)
- Explain and document technical designs in a way that a business owner can understand and developers can develop code and IT and UAT testers can test
- Coordinates projects from development through implementation, working with the organization’s IT colleagues, business partners, clients, vendors, and consultants
- Supports digital product team members, testing, business partners & training through the development life cycle which is includes but is not limited to assisting developers and testers to prepare datasets or reports which require complex business processes
- Review and accept completed work from the development team at the end of each sprint, ensuring it meets the Definition of Done and fulfills the intended business value
- Leads lessons learned/sprint review sessions
- Serve as primary communication bridge between the development team and various stakeholders (e.g. business owners, end-users, IT infrastructure teams, security, etc.)
- Manage stakeholder expectations regarding product scope, timelines, and priorities, navigating trade-offs effectively
- Identify, track, and help mitigate product-related risks and cross-team dependencies that could impact delivery
- Provides input in the development of conversion and software implementation project plans on assigned projects
- Works with the project manager to follow project plans, convey accurate project status, and identify issues and risks
- Supports the project manager or release manager to obtain approvals of project documentation and release plans
- Communicates project state to business and IT partners
- Supports the development and delivery of communications and awareness plans and activities to support the promotion and use of supported applications
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for their digital product team
- Establish and manage channels for collecting user feedback and integrate this feedback into the product backlog for continuous improvement
- Conduct post-launch analysis to evaluate product performance against defined metrics and identify areas for iteration and enhancement
- Champion continual process improvement within the team and across the organization
- Supports operations in the use of the department's systems, including implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of existing applications as third tier of support
- Enforces and adheres to organizational processes and standards
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education - College degree, preferably a B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or a degree with Clinical focus from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in programming in a distributed computing environment or clinical/healthcare experience.
- Experience - Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in business analysis with one (1) of those years in the healthcare industry; OR any combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Experience using formal software development methodologies and documenting customer business requirements through formal business analysis processes.

- Understanding of SQL language to be able to complete analysis and ad hoc query requests
- Able to write and understand conceptual data models and interpret physical data models
- Solid analytical skills
- Ability to understand and convert business requirements into functional specifications
- While not a developer, possess a strong understanding of the underlying technologies, architecture, and technical constraints of the digital product to make informed decisions and communicate effectively with the development team.
- Ability to work in MS Office and other Microsoft products
