HME is currently recruiting for a Shipping Clerk III, Temporary, 6 months for our Carlsbad office. Shipping Clerks are responsible for shipping sales orders, returns, special shipments and act as a central point of contact to the customers we serve. The responsibility of a Shipping Clerk III is to select work by priority based on department established processes. You'll perform all the functions of Shipping Clerk II (processing complex product mix, large volume domestic and international orders, and orders containing hazardous materials). In addition, you will troubleshoot and resolve department shipping errors to avoid service disruptions to customers. Lastly, you will manage department supplies and equipment.
What you will do in the position:
Packing Duties
- Performs packing work to written policies and procedures
- Verifies material picked for sales orders match material listed on packing slip
- Reviews and follow all instructions noted in the packing instructions
- Packages material securely in designated carton(s) per department established procedures
- Packages all hazardous materials to written policies and procedures
Shipping Duties
- Performs shipping work to written policies and procedures
- Process shipments through ERP and shipping systems
- Verifies shipping label(s) accuracy and apply to carton(s)
- Applies all regulatory package labeling as required
- Stages orders for collection based on department procedures
- Performs all workstation end-of-day processes
- Creates itemized packing slips and dangerous goods paperwork for applicable shipments
- Cross trains to Finished Goods Clerk II requirements to support operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve shipment process errors
- Respond to customer support requests for resolution in a timely and professional manner
Inventory Support
- Ensures quality and accuracy in work
- Reports discrepancies to appropriate supervision
- Performs cycle counts without supervision
Work Area Maintenance
- Maintains a safe and clean work area
- Performs aisle/workstation maintenance
- Participates in Lean initiatives
- Leads department Gemba walk
- Monitors and reorders all shipping supplies and manage department equipment
Administrative
- Ability to manage time wisely
- Maintains good attendance in accordance with company guidelines
- Adheres to all Company health and safety policies and procedures
- Performs all other duties as assigned
