Why join Harvard Medical School?
Harvard Medical School's mission is to nurture a diverse, inclusive community dedicated to alleviating suffering and improving health and well-being for all through excellence in teaching and learning, discovery and scholarship, and service and leadership.
You’ll be at the heart of biomedical discovery, education, and innovation, working alongside world-renowned faculty and a community dedicated to improving human health. This is more than a job - it’s an opportunity to shape the future of medicine.
About the Biomedical Science Careers Program (BSCP):
The Biomedical Science Careers Program (BSCP) exists to increase the representation of individuals from underserved communities in science and medicine, while helping science-related industries and institutions build a more diverse workforce. We connect students from diverse backgrounds with mentors, resources, and experiences to overcome barriers to higher education and reach their full potential. BSCP also creates a community of support giving young people the confidence to achieve their most ambitious goals. Since our founding in 1991, we have supported more than 17,000 students from 41 countries, all 50 states, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico.
BSCP is at an exciting juncture of growth, and we are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial fundraising professional to grow and lead our development program. As the first Associate Director of Development and Donor Engagement, you will be important in driving our mission by securing philanthropic support, building lasting relationships with funders, and advancing donor engagement efforts. This highly independent role reports directly to the Executive Director, under the leadership of the Office for Culture and Community Engagement (OCCE) at Harvard Medical School. It offers an opportunity to shape the future of BSCP’s development program. The organizational budget is approximately $1.5 million annually, which is raised yearly from private philanthropy.
