Learfield is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant II to support the financial close, consolidation, and reporting of our multi-entity corporate structure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment. Assignments will vary across corporate, consolidation, and operational accounting areas based on experience and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned components of the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
  • Maintain and improve ledger structures, subledger relationships, and Chart of Accounts alignment to ensure reporting integrity across systems.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policies by preparing, reviewing, and supporting financial disclosures for internal management, external reporting, and tax teams.
  • Serve as a liaison with external auditors, preparing audit support and driving resolution of audit-related requests.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and business partners to validate results, support flux analysis, and ensure consistency between financial systems (e.g., Great Plains and Adaptive Planning).
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of process improvements, system enhancements, and reporting automation to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards and apply technical accounting guidance to complex or unusual transactions.
  • Support corporate and business unit projects, including reorganizations, acquisitions, and system integrations as needed.
  • Mentor and support other team members by sharing knowledge and reinforcing accounting best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a large corporate or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and experience applying it to complex financial structures.
  • Proven ability to manage close cycles in a multi-entity, multi-location organization.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Great Plains) and corporate reporting tools such as Adaptive Insights or Prophix.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; skilled in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate across departments and levels.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Big 4 public accounting and/or a public/private background preferred.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Familiarity with consolidated reporting in complex entity structures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across Finance, Tax, Legal, and FP&A teams.
