Position Title: Controller






Description:

The Controller is responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring compliance, and driving financial strategies according to Inwood Bank Policy. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Lead a talented finance team, drive strategic financial planning, and support the growth and success of the Bank. Expertise will be key in shaping our financial strategies and maintaining the Bank’s commitment to financial excellence. Promotes and maintains the Bank’s mission, values and culture. Provides exceptional communication and service to employees and customers. Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the financial accounting and reporting processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct financial analysis to guide strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring performance against budgets.
  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Assess and recommend improvements to accounting systems and processes.
  • Liaise with other departments to support overall organizational objectives.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax reporting and filings.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with established Bank policies and procedures. Demonstrate knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and related laws as they pertain to the Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Controller in Accounting Department Management.
    • Proven experience in a financial managerial position and as a people manager
  • Strong and Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred Experience with and strong understanding of regulatory compliance and reporting.
  • Experience in the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements
  • Proficient in the use of banking/accounting software applications, financial data analysis tools and computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications.
