Job Summary
The Outpatient Charge Capture Specialist will assist to develop, implement, and maintain the documentation accuracy initiative at the Hospital. This position is responsible for the review of the clinical documentation in the medical record and querying of medical staff caregivers to obtain accurate and complete documentation, which appropriately supports the severity of patient illness. The documentation specialist is on–site and available five (5) days a week. This position will focus on cardiac catheterization procedures and will work closely with the Cath Lab team.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Cardiology coding highly preferred for both CPT and ICD-10. Ability to communicate with all physicians and staff. Educate residents, med students, mid-level providers and attending.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience
Certified Cardiology Coder (CCC) and Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC) preferred.
