Job Title: Financial Reporting Coordinator

Department: Accounting

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt

Grade: 11

 

Summary 

The Financial Reporting Coordinator serves as the central point of contact for key financial projects for the Credit Union and is responsible for submitting multiple regulatory filings in compliance with credit union legal and regulatory requirements, the organization’s policies and procedures, and accepted accounting principles.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reporting Coordination

  • Prepares and assist with the quarterly NCUA Call Report and Profile, which is used to monitor the financial condition and performance of the credit union.
  • Oversees and prepares the annual Form 945 tax withholding to be submitted to the IRS, in addition to providing the actual daily withholdings to be sent to the IRS within the required timeline.
  • Analyzes, research, and consults on complex reporting issues and responds to ad-hoc requests for reports and variance information.
  • Accurately prepares quarterly tax withholding remittances for various states and resolves issues and problems timely.
  • Oversee and track all property tax payments and prepare property tax renditions.
  • Analyzes and produces variance analysis to understand actuals to budget and trend analysis for the Credit Union. Provide feedback and recommendations as needed.
  • Oversees and completes Federal Home Loan Bank and Federal Reserve reporting requirements within the required timelines
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and capital planning process; includes preparation of various ad-hoc reports to provide insight into the budget.
  • Monitors changes in financial and regulatory reporting requirements in the financial services industry and provides feedback and recommendations to finance leadership.
  • With input from the CFO or other senior management, draft, revise, and update organizational policies for review and approval of the Policy Committee. 
  • Assist CFO with ALCO, Board and other reporting requirements. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                  

Experience – 2 to 5 years related experience.

Education – 2-year degree or completion of specialized course of study OR 2 years related experience.

 

Language Skills                  

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.   Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills                  

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability                  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills                  

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ICIMS Human Resource systems preferred; ADP Payroll systems preferred; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
