Change Management Specialist - Journeyman

Primary Location: Quantico, VA

Clearance: Active Secret


Job Summary

We are hiring a Journeyman Change Management Specialist to support enterprise IT sustainment and release operations. This role will coordinate change activities, support validation testing, and ensure documentation is accurate and complete to enable secure, efficient delivery of system updates in a fast-paced Agile environment. The position focuses on managing system change requests (SCRs), configuration management, systems engineering, and validation testing while ensuring continual service improvement and release management documentation.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and document the lifecycle of system changes, including change requests, approvals, and implementation
  • Support the preparation and execution of release management activities, including planning, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination
  • Develop and maintain change documentation, including impact assessments, rollback strategies, and configuration updates
  • Collaborate with validation and testing teams to ensure changes are tested and verified prior to deployment
  • Support the development of test plans, test cases, and regression test scripts
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and change control meetings (e.g., CABs, CCBs)
  • Maintain traceability of changes and ensure alignment with system baselines and documentation repositories
  • Assist in the development of training materials and communications related to new or updated processes
  • Support continual service improvement (CSI) initiatives and release management documentation
  • Ensure compliance with configuration management processes and validation testing requirements


Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field
  • 4–6 years of experience in change management, release coordination, or systems documentation
  • Experience supporting Agile or DevSecOps environments
  • Familiarity with configuration management processes and documentation standards
  • Experience developing and maintaining process documentation, flowcharts, and SOPs
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with validation testing, regression testing, and test documentation
  • Familiarity with ITIL v4, Agile SAFe, or DoD systems engineering practices
  • Experience supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) or Change Advisory Boards (CABs)
  • Knowledge of automated testing tools and test-driven development (TDD) practices
  • Experience with enterprise IT systems or ERP platforms
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience with change promotion processes and deployment coordination

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Hybrid work environment at Quantico, VA site
  • Standard office environment with frequent coordination meetings and documentation activities
  • May require extended periods of computer work for documentation development and change tracking

Travel

  • Minimal travel required for stakeholder meetings and training sessions
