Job Purpose/Summary
The Account Executive is responsible for brokering and managing key clients for commercial lines (i.e., property and casualty), and financial lines (i.e., D&O/E&O Cyber). The Account Executive will be involved in developing and maintaining the client relationship beyond the annual transactional renewal period. An understanding of the insurance market along with building and maintaining strong relationships with our insurer partners is essential.

Essential Job Functions of the Commercial Insurance Account Executive:

  • Coordinate with team/Producer to complete coverage review for prospects
  • Utilize system capability (AMS/Vertafore) and properly to maintain complete and accurate client and policy data
  • Support Producers with research on clients and prospects
  • Develop client ready content, speaking engagements, white papers, etc.
  • Complete contract reviews for clients
  • Request renewal information from the client
  • Develop renewal strategy document; coordinate with document design as appropriate
  • Develop renewal coverage specifications
  • Select insurers for submission; negotiate quotes; coverage analysis
  • Develop and present renewal proposal
  • Request order to bind and submit binders to client
  • Ensure policy/endorsement issuance to client within 60 days

Required Education / Experience of the Commercial Insurance Account Executive:

  • 10 + years of relevant insurance industry experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Appropriate state licensing required
  • Insurance industry designations are preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience with Excel and PowerPoint

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
This position is based in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel
This position does not require travel.

The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. Base pay is one component of B. F. Saul Insurance’s total compensation package, which also includes access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, commission incentives and more.
