Job Summary: Independently perform a variety of admissions activities including recruiting, evaluating and participating in the selection of candidates for admission in accordance with university and departmental policies.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, this position is responsible for assisting the development and execution of a portfolio of recruitment initiatives. The role assists in aspects of the full-cycle admissions process for several degree programs from marketing and recruitment through to yield and matriculation, with a focus on domestic recruitment priorities. Moreover, the position advises on elements of the overall domestic marketing strategy (e.g., digital, social media, publications) for the office, in collaboration with Admissions leadership and colleagues in the Communications and Engagement office, including the development of campaigns and analysis of metrics to inform future strategy. In coordination with the Associate Director, proposes and manages the execution of innovative events, contacts, resources, and partnerships intended to enroll a talented and diverse student body, with a primary focus on experienced professionals across all 50 U.S. states. Conducts data needs assessments and evaluates admission activities to recommend immediate and future operational enhancements to support a portfolio of domestic recruitment goals. Monitors and analyzes data and trends for recruitment, admission, and yield purposes.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Assistant Director of Admissions will:
Assist Admissions leadership in researching, identifying, and cultivating potential partnerships with academic institutions, professional organizations, nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses.
Implement strategies to recruit, train, engage, and manage Admissions Ambassadors.
Serves as a resource on diversity recruitment, outreach, and admissions for faculty and staff.
Represent HGSE at high-level admissions events and/or functions, including on-campus, off-campus, and virtual events, including developing and facilitating presentations for a wide range of partners and groups.
Using discretion and judgment, evaluate applications for a portfolio of degree programs.
Support the Financial Certification process for admitted international students, ensuring comprehensive documentation and smooth workflow.
Have opportunity to hire and supervise a graduate assistant, designing the job responsibilities in collaboration with Admissions leadership and leading co-curricular professional development programming.
As member of Admissions Office team, contributing at all levels as needed and handling special projects as required.

Additional Qualifications:
Master’s degree and prior admissions experience preferred; attention to detail; excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills; strong presentation skills; ability to work under and meet tight deadlines is essential; demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute as member of team, develop relationships with wide variety of internal and external constituencies, provide high-level of customer service, handle confidential information, balance need to be both detail-oriented and strategic, and work in fast-paced environment. Strong interest in interacting with students and faculty to support graduate level education. Must display good judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and materials.

Work Format Details
This is a position that is based at a Harvard campus location with some remote work options available. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
