Overview

  • Assists therapists or exercise physiologists with patient management - rehabilitation/ strength and conditioning programs in rehabilitation therapy or cardiac rehabilitation. Provides non physical therapy maintenance interventions to patients who have been discharged from physical therapy (or discharged portion of the plan of care)

  • Prepares patient treatment rooms, gym, equipment prior to the visit to ensure the proper equipment and supplies are set-up for therapy treatments.

  • Communicate need for supplies to Admin Coordinator, and helps track receipt, and places logistics orders.

  • Ensures Cleanliness and Infection control in rooms/gym.
  • Demonstrates competence and serves as a resource for other staff as related to rehabilitation technology (body weight assisted treadmill, functional electrical stimulation bike for example)

  • Schedules patients in on-line scheduling system; places calls to patients as a reminder of their appointments- Epic Scheduling assistance as needed



Responsibilities

  • A minimum of Bachelor degree in exercise science or related field health & wellness field;  AND

     

  • One year of related experience including good communication skills for teaching;   AND

     

  • May require Automatic External Defibrillator, First Aide and CPR certified; AND

     

  • American Heart Healthcare Provider BLS Certification (ACLS Certification within 6 months of hire);  OR

     

  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.



Qualifications



  • Athletic Trainer Certified
  • NATA BOC, Oregon ATC License, ACLS Certification
  • Communication skills Teaching Prior experience as a physical therapy aide.
