Who We Need

Sabel Systems seeking a mid-level engineer with U.S. citizenship and a minimum clearance of a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 Public Trust Investigation. A Secret Clearance is desirable with a favorable adjudicated Tier 3 National Security Investigation. This candidate will function as a CAD Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the transformation of the Engineering Data Management Office (EDMO) of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) within the Department of Defense (DoD).

What You’ll Do

The EDMO helps program offices properly define digital product data requirements needed to obtain a Technical Data Package (TDP) that can meet mission requirements.

The EDMO provides validation services to program offices to validate its TDPs against the requirements specified in the contract. The EDMO utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to interrogate, validate and remediate (when feasible) the digital product data delivered as a TDP. If the TDP data fails validation, the EDMO identifies the specific issue(s) and either rejects the TDP back through the program office contract officer for contractor remediation or the EDMO remediates the data.

The six CAD tools of interest are Siemens NX, PTC Creo, Dassault CATIA, Dassault Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, and Autodesk AutoCAD. In addition to these six CAD tools, the EDMO modernization is expected to utilize Commercial Off the Shelf(COTS), Government Off the Shelf (GOTS), or Hybrid capabilities to interrogate, validate, and remediate parametric metadata contained in the native CAD Models.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• A 4-year engineering degree from an accredited university with 3+ years of experience

•

• Functional knowledge of and hands on experience using multiple CAD tools to create 3D CAD Models that satisfy the Product Data standards and specifications utilized by the DAF.
• Knowledge of and experience with creating manual inspection and interrogation of Native 3D CAD Models to assess the level of standards compliance.
• Knowledge of and experience with using native CAD scripting to automate the manual inspection and interrogation.
• Domain knowledge related to how Native 3D CAD Models handle parametric meta data as well as computational geometry.
• Communicate effectively both internally with colleagues and externally with customers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance to support new capability development. The new capability development is expected to be an R&D activity that explores new use cases.
• Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary talent (Engineers, technicians, PLM Architects, Infrastructure Engineers).

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Level Diploma with 5+ years of highly relevant engineering experience.

Salary and Benefits

The range for this position is between $95000 and $117000. Actual salary will be negotiated with this position’s Hiring Manager and can vary depending on the following factors: Billable contract and labor category, experience, skills, education /certifications/ licenses & geographic location.
