Job Summary
Reporting to the Transportation Manager Senior, the Transportation Assistant Manager provides leadership and supervision for a designated portion of the transit operation, as well as periodically serves as a driver as directed or needed. The Transportation Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient delivery of services and maintaining a positive customer service environment. This position provides training, coaching and guidance to drivers as well as the enforces federal, state, local, university and departmental regulations, policies, and standards in addition to other duties as assigned. The daytime Assistant Manager is specifically responsible for the supervision of daily operations and personnel to include campus fixed route bus service as well as scheduled charter service and paratransit on-demand service. The evening Assistant Manager is specifically responsible for the supervision of evening and overnight transit operations and personnel to include campus fixed route bus service, on-demand overnight bus services and Wildcab vouchers. Additionally, the Assistant Manager provides oversight of Lextran for the delivery of third-party campus circulator services during their assigned periods of responsibility.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel), knowledge of ADA Regulations, comfortable with technology in general and able to learn and adapt to custom software platforms.

A Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement is preferred but not required.
