Network Engineer 

 

Justification 

 

MX Business Units are continuing to grow significantly with new customers, and this position is very critical due to the seniority, high technical skills, and leadership needed to manage the BU-IT requests/leaders, considering standardization and sustainable telecommunications implementations and support. It requires rotating on sites: Macrocentro Corp Office where DSC IT resides, Hangares Corp Office where EXP IT resides and Kanzas Corp Office where DGF IT resides. Also, it is required that S/he visits local and foreign operation site for troubleshooting and implementations as the business requires it.?Native Spanish is required, and fluent English is desired. Additionally, by Mexico Labor Law, we cannot replace with a Contractor. 

 

This role ensures that the DHL Group standards are applied to Telecommunications support while implementing Customer-facing Projects. 

 

Main Purpose 
 
The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting and implementing the LAN and Wireless infrastructure. S/He is responsible for the effective and efficient operational support of our internal clients and provide operational service management processes to ensure quality, efficiency, productivity, and agility goals are achieved. S/He may also coordinate activities of engineers when involved in projects, perform network capacity planning, monitoring, compliance assessments, end of life replacements, and root cause analysis as required. 
 
Key Responsibilities 
 
Operational effectiveness and efficiency 
 

  • Ensures the delivery of efficient and secure Network operations as per DHL standards, supporting telecom infrastructure that fulfill the needs of the business. 

  • Oversees the support processes that include incident, problem, change, configuration, and event management. 

  • Ensures we meet the required level of service, system performance and functionality required to meet business commitments. 

  • Supports the implementation and management of quality and efficiency improvements of Network service delivery, to drive value and support. 

  • Proactive monitoring of the network environment using DHL ITS defined tool. 

  • Keep network documentation up to date (topology, processes, procedures).  

  • Service and resolution of incidents through tickets, creation, and execution of changes in a productive environment, following the best practices and the ITIL framework 

  • Active participation in design and setup of customer projects and internal projects. 

  • To be a key player in Continuous Improvement and Innovation initiatives. 

  • Participation in conference calls with global teams in technical committees (English required). 

 

What we need from you 
 

  • 5+ years of enterprise level experience supporting, deploying, and executing preventive maintenance in a mission-critical LAN, Wireless environments. 

  • 5+ years of Network Design and project deployment experience 

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining Cisco hardware/software, switching and routing in datacenters, manufacturing, and branch locations. 

  • Experience working in a global environment and with virtual teams. 

  • Experience supporting and maintaining Cisco Wireless infrastructure (desired) 

  • Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) Configuration and troubleshooting 

  • Knowledge of Route manipulation with route maps and protocol redistribution, route filtering and prefix-lists 

  • Solid knowledge of Layer 2 protocols and technologies. Configuration and troubleshooting involving but not limited to: RPVST+, Etherchannel, Stackwise. 

  • Knowledge in Wireless. Configuration and troubleshooting involving but not limited to: Wireless Lan Controller (WLC), AP group, Flex connect group, SSIDs, AP Standalone. 

  • Advance/Fluent English
