Sourcing Manager
NAPA Auto Parts is seeking a high-energy, results-oriented Sourcing Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and managing our direct imports categories portfolio. This role requires a dynamic individual with the ability to develop and manage strategic sourcing strategies, execute RFPs, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Position Performance Measures:
- Achieve annual cost savings through effective RFP/Tender execution and strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple product categories of automotive parts and accessories.
- Lead supplier negotiations to align with business objectives, mitigate cost increases, and manage global supplier relationships.
- Develop and manage strategic sourcing strategies for assigned product categories, including supplier diversification plans and compliance with trade policies, to achieve cost savings and ensure product availability.
- Utilize analytical skills and tools (Excel, COUPA CSO, Wrike, D365, Power BI) for decision making, reporting, and implementation of sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment and effective communication across internal and global sourcing teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers to meet performance standards and address supply chain disruptions proactively.
- The ability to evaluate and ensure that supplier performance meets or exceeds defined performance standards and adheres to overall company policies and procedures
Cross-Functional Collaboration: As a Sourcing Manager, you will work closely with various cross-functional teams to ensure effective sourcing strategies and supplier management. These teams include:
- Procurement and Engineering/Quality: Collaborate within the procurement organization to ensure alignment on changeovers, procurement gains, NPIs, quality, audits and compliance.
- Multiple Category Teams: Partner hand-in-hand with category teams to develop sourcing strategies and execute RFPs.
- Pricing:
- Buying & Replenishment: Work with the buying and replenishment teams to maintain inventory levels and product availability.
- Logistics: Coordinate with logistics to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- GPC Global Sourcing Team: Engage with the global sourcing team based in China for international sourcing and supplier management.
- Domestic & International Suppliers: Manage relationships with suppliers located domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities: - Develop and manage a 3-year sourcing strategy for assigned product categories, ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends.
- Actively manage all aspects of supplier relationships as the primary relationship owner, focusing on direct imports.
- Design, implement, and execute strategic sourcing initiatives, including global market analysis, strategy development, RFP management, supplier negotiations, and selection.
- Enhance the organization's competitive position through continuous improvement in cost, supplier value, and quality.
- Analyze industry trends and evolving technologies to proactively identify supply base issues, minimize risk, ensure supply continuity, and exploit emerging opportunities.
- Review and approve a comprehensive list of suppliers for bid processes, ensuring the activation of the best possible supply base through industry analysis and competitive positioning.
- Develop and lead supplier negotiation strategies that align with business objectives and foster sustainable relationships.
- Implement supplier agreements/contracts by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (Procurement, Engineering/Quality, Category Teams, Buying & Replenishment, Logistics, Global Sourcing Team, International Suppliers) to finalize terms and conditions.
- Take action to reduce costs by creating efficiencies, economies of scale, and improving resource quality.
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models to ensure optimal supplier performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications: - Experience in global sourcing and managing/executing RFPs via COUPA or similar platforms.
- Cross-functional experience in sourcing, retail, and procurement, working with category, pricing, inventory, and logistics teams.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and data analytical skills.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Ability to influence and negotiate optimal arrangements with external suppliers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates productive influencing ability, gaining respect and building constructive relationships.
- Fosters open communications and candid discussions.
- Proactive with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.

- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus but not required.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Global Sourcing, Supply Chain, and Category Management.
- Strong data entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Required experience in sourcing and purchasing.
- Ability to analyze and interpret common accounting procedures.
- Excellent phone, written, and verbal communication skills to assist customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with business practices.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously
