Senior Specialist - BPO [Successor Identified] - Military veterans preferred

Overall Role Purpose

• Handles all aspects of Software Engineering – business analysis, design, knowledge transfer, programming, testing, test automation, and documentation.
• Handles more customer and software development-centric tasks as compared to document-driven driven.
• Support all other Business Process Optimization (BPO) initiatives or solutions that add value to the service line.

Key activities

• Lead the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing application systems and software packages.
• Act as the IT/technical lead in projects/initiatives as per the planned IT Roadmap
• Provide IT support for DHL’s proprietary application software under the IT Team's responsibility.
• Develop software codes based on best practices and guidelines
• Monitors & fixes the IT applications issues for support (incident ticket) based on SLA and ensures users and other interested parties are kept informed proactively.
• Negotiates with users, specialists, staff, and suppliers with respect to emergencies, routine and unscheduled maintenance, and the introduction of amendments to the provision of services to ensure business disruptions are kept to a minimum.
• Reviews effectiveness and efficiency in assigned areas of responsibility and takes action to improve the quality of service, performance, and availability.

• Provides expert advice, training, and technical assistance to other teams related to software development processes/ solutions.

Educational Qualifications

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent

Experience: Minimum of 4 - 5 years in .NET development.

Technical Skills:

• Extensive experience in web development using C# or VB.Net, .NET or .NET framework, JavaScript (native and/or frameworks), and MS SQL Server.
• Proficiency in unit testing and code reviews.
• Strong understanding of clean code principles and SOLID design principles.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL, with performance tuning experience being a plus.
• Experience with web service APIs such as REST and WCF/SOAP.
• Sound experience in the execution of IT projects with a high level of expertise in system application and technology implementation delivery.
