DHL Express is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Diegem, Belgium.
How will you contribute to the success of DHL?
To incorporate the whole 'value-added' chain involved in development and implementation solutions that meet the needs of the Business and the Airline Partners whilst embracing Development & Design
To follow relevant processes, design and architecture requirements that set out the relevant Global Aviation IT, EGAP and Global BIT policies and requirements
To analyse functional and technical requirements, and the design and build of solutions that may be inhouse, off-the-shelf or through third-parties
To contribute to the provision of any Quality Assurance, Configuration, Testing, Training or Documentation services required to successfully integrate and implement the final solution
To contribute, communicate and manage domain/technology-related information within Global Aviation IT and the Wider DPDHL IT Community
Coordinate collaboration with external service providers in terms of assembling own or third-party system components (e.g.: software - service, components, products - database and hardware modules) into a system, and coordinate SOA service orchestration and interfaces between modules
Apply standard methodologies when creating new programs and applications (developing and coding from specifications) or when maintaining existing ones
Customise COTS based on pre-determined parameters, and executes customizing tests
Document work using the required standards, methods and tools (e.g.: produce program and system documentation)
Assist in definition, initiation and architecture design of projects/program
Do you have what it takes?
Educated to Degree Level or equivalent in IT or Business Management
Relevant professional qualifications would be desirable
Strong understanding of the accepted methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2 / Agile)
DHL Express 2-5 Years minimum
5-8 years of experience in software engineering (With BS/BA) and methods including formal methods (e.g. PRINCE2 / Agile)
Experience in software engineering (with MS/MA) and methods including formal methods (e.g. PRINCE2 / Agile)
An experienced professional contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work in the professional field
Knowledge and/or Experience in application of the subject matter expertise as described in the relevant Competencies Development sheets
Inquisitive and analytical mind
Excellent understanding of the role and potential for IT in a business context
Proven ability to manage non-direct reports to achieve results
Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural multi-functional environment where consensus is critical for success
Customer and end-user focused
Excellent oral and written communications skills
English - Fluent (verbal and written)
