 As the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will provide the necessary technical leadership, mentoring, guidance and assure total quality of all engineering efforts. Will lead, motivate, and manage engineering responsibilities for the Air Base Operations. Responsible for the management of various engineering activities, including product design & testing, prototyping, first article production management, RFQs, bill of material (BOM) set up & maintenance, and engineering change notice (ECN) management

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work involves coordination, research and problem solving on a variety of engineering projects with unique or controversial problems, the solution of which has an important effect on major organization programs.
  • Hire, train, manage and review performance of engineering staff and plan resources to meet department goals
  • Define engineering timelines according to project objectives & execute accordingly.
  • Challenge designs, methods and procedures to improve labor efficiency and product construction & quality
  • Set priorities for team and drive projects to completion using good judgement and facilitate innovative thinking and problem solving through root cause analysis.
  • Driving continuous improvement within the team and organization and determining all resource requirements necessary to provide excellent customer service & drive projects to completion.
  • Lead multi-disciplined engineering teams on selected projects, serving as the client’s main point of contact for the engineering team
  • Establish, promote and ensure quality on all work performed by the Project Electrical, Mechanical and Structural engineers’ staff
  • Determine the labor, resource, and financial needs of the engineering department and assist the Site manager with budgeting for the project and oversee expenditures of all the engineering departments

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

·         B.S. in Engineering preferred Electrical.

·         Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ electrical engineering experience

·         Knowledge of principles of engineering, planning, project programming, and ability to interpret plans and drawings.

·         Experience in management and supervision of an engineering staff.

·         Proficient in AutoCAD and as well photometric and cable sizing softwares

·         Sounds knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ISO and UFC codes

 

LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:

·         Professional Engineer (PE) preferred

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

·         Position requires good leadership and motivational skills, solid technical background, good organizational skills, attention to detail, quality control, client interaction and representation.

·         Strong project management and communication skills.

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Ability to effectively collaborate with and lead individuals and teams (excellent people skills to motivate or discipline) and manage multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously.
