Position Summary:

The idealcandidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have adesire and ability to work with a diverse population.

As a member of the End User Services team, the EDP Systems Analyst III providestechnical hardware/software support for client computers and other technologieswithin MassBay. This individual provides courteous, timely, and effectiveassistance to students, faculty and staff, including classroom, lab, and eventsupport. Areas of responsibility are the Framingham and Wellesley HillsCampuses, and the Ashland Technology Center.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist in package creation, installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining a variety of college hardware, software and miscellaneous equipment;

  • Assist with monitoring, triaging and escalating IT help desk ticket requests and incidents;


  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to software deployment and workstation imaging, particularly within macOS;


  • Create and maintain standards and procedural documentation;


  • Perform routine computer, printer, and peripherals maintenance;


  • Support college-wide and multi-campus audiovisual services in classrooms, meeting spaces, and auditorium;


  • Provide end user training when necessary;


  • Make necessary adjustments and/or arrangements for outside repair as needed;


  • Support computers and peripheral equipment using a variety of operating systems and applications;


  • Work independently and exercise reasonable judgment with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities and accomplishments;


  • Assist with interviewing, evaluating and recommending applicants for future EDP Analyst roles, Part Time roles, and Student Worker positions to Director;


  • Act as liaison between users, End User Services team and Director to set and adjust work priorities;


  • Perform Other duties as assigned.

RequiredQualifications:

Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time,or equivalent part-time, professional experience in electronic data processingof which (B) at least two years must have been in work in which the majorduties included computer systems analysis, or (C) any equivalent combination ofthe required experience and the substitutions below.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

I. An Associate's degree with a major in thefield of data processing or computer programming may be substituted for amaximum of one year of the required (A) experience.*

II. A Bachelor's degree with a major in thefield of data processing or computer and/or information science may besubstituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.*

III. A Graduate degree with a major in the fieldof data processing or computer and/or information science may be substitutedfor a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.*

IV. A diploma for completion of a two yearfull-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized non-degree grantingbusiness or vocational/technical school above the high school level with amajor in the field of computer programming may be substituted for a maximum ofone year of the required (A) experience.*

V. An official transcript from a recognizedbusiness or vocational/ technical school as evidence of completion of a programconsisting of at least 650 hours of instruction in the field of computerprogramming may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A)experience.

VI. Graduation from the data processing courseof a recognized vocational/technical high school may be substituted for amaximum of one year of the required (A) experience.

*Education toward such a degree or diploma will beprorated based on the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

NOTE: No substitution will be allowed for the oneyear of the required (B) experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience Administering Windows 10, 11 and Mac OS;

  • Knowledge of and technical experience supporting Apple products;

  • Experience with macOS installation, troubleshooting, recovery;

  • Experience administering Mobile Device Management;

  • Experience with patch management solutions such as JAMF, PDQ and Vicarius;

  • Experience administering Microsoft Development Toolkit (MDT);

  • Experience with Microsoft Autopilot;

  • Experience troubleshooting audiovisual equipment;

  • CompTIA A+ Certification;

  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;

  • Experience working in a diverse environment;

  • Demonstrate commitment to working with underserved students;

  • Experience working in a multi-user environment supporting users at different levels;

  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills;

  • Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) or Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC);

  • Basic knowledge of Bash, Python or Zsh scripting.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: AFSCMEUnit I, Grade 23 Step 1 $80,613.52 annually. Appointments from outside thebargaining unit begin at Step 1 of the range.
