Standard Biotools is seeking a dynamic, client-focused Senior Account Manager for our Life Sciences Sales team with revenue responsibility for our pharma, biotech, academic, and government sales channels. This role will be a key player in developing and executing sales plans for Standard Biotools innovative platforms at all levels of the client organization – from initiation through ongoing relationship management. Efforts will focus on use of the SomaScan platform, the KREX platform and the Discovery Lab services as discovery tools, and the opportunity for these clients to utilize SomaSignal Tests from our platform for entry into and monitoring during clinical trials and commercialization of pharmaceuticals. Demand generation within our rapidly growing commercial team will be a key part of this role and therefore entrepreneurial “hunter”-type sales professionals will fit best.

This role is in for the Massachusetts area.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Generate and grow revenue at accounts in assigned geography; exceed quarterly and annual targets
  • Create, maintain and execute strategic territory business plan
  • Manage multiple accounts within the North Central territory at various stages of the cycle from prospecting through value delivery
  • Manage accounts that are already engaged with Standard Biotools, maximizing value for and from them
  • Introduce Standard Biotools technology to relevant accounts
  • Evangelize a relatively unknown technology to result in adoption by pharma and academic researchers at all levels of the client organization
  • Communicate technical data and information, both to and from accounts
  • Guide customers through the deal process, from initial contact through value delivery
  • Assist with preparation of sales materials and collateral
  • Contribute skills to rapidly growing Standard Biotools Life Sciences Sales Team in a highly matrixed and complex sales environment

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in the Life Sciences or related field; MBA, MS or PhD is a plus

Skills and experience

  • A demonstrated successful track record in pitching and completing deals with pharma, including contacts at the higher levels of large pharma (Senior Director, VP, SVP, C-level)
  • 3-5 years direct sales experience doing deals focused on a technology, preferably a platform technology, with multiple applications in pharma and other life sciences settings. Candidates with advanced scientific training and less sales experience will also be considered.
  • Deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical life cycle – from drug discovery through drug development, and understanding of pain points such that they can be addressed with an applicable technology
  • Must have demonstrated ability to manage client engagements, at all levels, to ensure delivery of value, and to proliferate use of a technology deeply and broadly throughout accounts
  • Experience managing negotiations and communications on multiple contracts simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently in a rapidly evolving environment

Work Environment:

  • This position is for the the Boston area 2, US territory.
  • Ideally, candidate will reside within a 1-hour drive of a major metropolitan airport and must live within the territory.
  • This is a home-based position.
  • Up to 50% travel to interact with clients and occasional international travel may be required.
