Employee Type: Regular The successful candidate will be responsible for performing duties in the areas of financial and cost accounting, such as budgeting and reporting functions at the Freedom Mine. Job Description: Essential Duties: Provide support with the annual operating and long-range budget projections Aid in the completion and distribution of the monthly Mine Cost Report Assist with various cost analysis projects and comparison reports Provide backup for daily financial/cost accounting duties as needed, including AP functions, time and data entry and other database maintenance Assist in the preparation of financial statements and cost reports on a timely and accurate basis Preparation and input of journal entries into the general accounting system Provide support regarding the analysis of general ledger account activity and supply requested information Assist in the preparation of schedules for financial audits, both internal and external Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal regulations (including but not limited to accounting, employment and environmental regulations) Other Duties: Assist with statistical research and provide information and support for other departments and mine personnel Perform other duties as directed Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough understanding of accounting principles and systems Proficient in Microsoft Office products Knowledge of or willingness to learn advanced Microsoft Excel functions to include power query and power pivot Knowledge of business intelligence applications and practices, such as Power BI, is a plus Must possess the ability to handle confidential information Must be accurate and detail oriented Must possess good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced work environment Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field is required; or, four years of experience as an accountant may be considered in lieu of degree CMA or CPA certification is preferred Position closes on July 23, 2025 EEO Statement: EEO/M/F/disability/veteran You must meet at least the specific minimum requirements listed above to be considered a qualified applicant.
