General Summary

Under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Director for Housing, this role will execute marketing strategies and communications for Housing and Residence Life (HRL). Additionally, this role will support occupancy management functions to maximize housing occupancy in residence halls and apartments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with the Assistant Director for Housing, Assignments Coordinator, and Assistant Director for Residence Life, execute marketing and social media strategies, complete website updates, coordinate associated deliverables, and monitor marketing activity results, in an effort to increase visibility and awareness of living on campus.
  • Assist in coordinating housing and residence life participation in admissions, orientation, and other events, including tour program management, parent and student presentations, and representing housing at various resources fairs.
    Help research and compile best practices for the department.
  • Assist with coordinating student assessments around the campus living experience to help inform marketing strategies.
  • Assist with departmental broad scale communications, including material and email creation, and responding to email inquiries.
  • Support assignment and occupancy management projects including application updates, room selection, early/late arrival lists, waitlists, summer configuration, and database management.
  • Assist with the room change process, including staff training, meeting with students, and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Assist with inquiries and provide guidance to prospective students and families regarding the housing application and room selection process.
  • Participate in departmental commitments such as staff selection, departmental meetings, and training.
  • Collaborate with key university offices for the purposes of promoting living on campus and supporting the on-campus student experience.
  • These offices include Student Affairs, Athletics, College Supports Program, Admissions, Orientation, Academic Advising, Physical Plant, and Gilbane.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, business, or a related field is required.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a collaborative approach to management is required.

Demonstrated experience in digital and social media marketing, with knowledge of current trends and best practices is required.

Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams is required.

Proficiency in standard computer applications (e.g. basic and some advanced functions of Windows and/or Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the internet and web-based forms) and the ability to learn and utilize complex systems and databases is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of related work experience in marketing and coordination is preferred.
