Description of Duties:
The Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The selected candidate will contribute to the development and deployment of information security protocols for assigned systems in accordance with program and enterprise policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures. Responsibilities include implementing Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes under RMF, as well as supporting product development and maintenance from a security perspective. The ISSO will perform continuous monitoring activities (CONMON), participate in audits and assessments, and present findings through technical reports and briefings. The role also includes identifying root causes of issues, prioritizing threats, recommending and implementing corrective actions, and supporting enterprise-wide policy development across stakeholder organizations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational ability, and multitasking proficiency. They will also show measurable leadership experience and the ability to mentor others within the information security team.

Basic Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must have a current DoD Secret Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain an interim clearance in a timely manner
• Must have a minimum of 8 years of general full-time work experience, with at least 5 years of directly related cybersecurity or ISSO experience
• Must have a current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
• Must have hands-on experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), including A&A processes
• Must have experience preparing formal documentation, reports, or briefings for leadership or agency stakeholders
• Must be able to work on site 5 days per week and maintain restricted badge access

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience mentoring junior cybersecurity staff or supporting technical leadership within an ISSO team
• Familiarity with enterprise-level policy development and cross-agency cybersecurity collaboration
• Knowledge of CONMON procedures, technical writing, and audit preparation
• Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and respond to security threats at the system and enterprise level

Compensation:
Salary range is $130,000 – $148,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and directly relevant certifications.
