Overview
This is a research position involving extensive work with cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry, and animal handling. Such as: handling of multiple cancer cell lines, testing of drug and drug combinations in a large scale, culturing of primary cancer cells; generation of lentivirus and infecting cancer cells in culture, western blotting, flow cytometry, fluorescence imaging, RNA/DNA preparation, CRISPR-based gene editing, immunohistochemical assays including generation of publication quality imaging and quantification. Will be also involved with handling mice, such as generation of patient-derived xenografts in scid mice, drug administration, tumor volume measurement, colony breading occasionally blood draw for pharmacokinetic assays.
The Research Associate/Senior Research Associate should be able to help plan and implement collaborative projects with partner labs, including teaching relevant techniques or developing and establishing new techniques. It is expected that the Research Associate/Senior Research Associate will be able to independently design and implement experiments; will be responsible for writing and editing of manuscripts, grants, laboratory protocols, such as IACUC, IBC, will maintain proper laboratory records. Will attend weekly lab meetings and present research upon request. Computer knowledge is desirable. A minimum of MS degree with major courses and experience in Cancer Biology, molecular biology and biochemistry, animal handling is required.
Research Associate:
Master's Degree in relevant field AND 3 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 5 years of relevant experience.
Senior Research Associate:
PhD in relevant field AND 1 year of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in relevant field AND 5 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 9 years of relevant experience.
Experience: Tissue culture experience, Animal handling, Computer skills.
